Installation/Stage 1

From Lanius CMS Wiki

Stage 1 - Check

This page summarizes the configuration details which are of interest to Lanius CMS; if something is not matching the minimum requirement, a message will be shown. If there are instructions or known workarounds to fix the problem, you will be advised of them. The last section of the page is the PHP configuration check; there are three columns in this section of the page:

  • The Directive column which describes the PHP setting being checked
  • The Recommended column which shows the recommended value for this setting
  • The Actual column which shows your current PHP value for this setting

A specific notice will be shown if the recommended setting is not matched (see screenshot below), however even without any matching PHP setting it is usually possible to install and use (with eventual limitations) Lanius CMS.

Installation - PHP and directories check

The second section of this page checks your directory paths. On the left there is a list of directories that must be writable in order to allow some write-related Lanius CMS features (for example automatic updates). Items in list on the right should all say Writable in green color. If some folders are not writable, you should first try to make them writable. After verifying your permissions click where it says Click here to continue.

If there were non-writable folders and you could not change the permissions, you will not be able to perform online updates and will have to manually create the configuration file (config.php) in the next Stage 2.
