Creating a subsite

To create a new subsite click on New button, after which the New Subsite page will be displayed. When you create a subsite, Lanius CMS will automatically create a subfolder for the subsite in the root directory. However, it will be in your responsibility to assign the correct subdomain name on your server to the new subsite.

In the corresponding fields, provide details of the new subsite:

  • Subpath

Name of directory assigned to the new subsite.

  • Subsite title

Title of your new subsite.

  • Subsite is online

Specify if you wish to have subsite online or offline.

  • Subsite table prefix

This field is automatically copied from your database settings. When you've finished, press the Create button. The new subsite is created, and information page will be displayed.

Editing subsite

Make any changes to the details of subsite and click Save. The changes are saved, and you are returned to the Subsites page.

Deleting subsite

Please remember that deleting a subsite is permanent, and can't be restored. All files associated with it will be lost. If you still want to continue, click OK. The subfolder and all of it's contents are permanently deleted from the root directory, and the Subsites page will be updated.

Updating subsite

When you upgrade the root website, subsites and their databases are still outdated.

You can update subsites to a newer version by selecting the checkbox next to the subsite you want to update and pressing Update button.

Publishing and unpublishing subsite

Just like root site, subsite also can be online or offline. If you want the subsite to be viewable online, you must first publish it. Alternatively, if you want to take a subsite offline, you can un-publish it.

  • To publish the subsite, select the checkbox next to the

subsite you want to publish (or click on one of it's parameters) and press Publish button. The subsite is online, and the status is updated in the Status column of the Subsites page.

  • To unpublish the subsite, select the checkbox next to the

subsite you want to unpublish (or click on one of it's parameters) and press Unpublish button. The subsite is offline, and the status is updated in the Status column of the Subsites page.

You can see if the subsite is currently online or not in the Status column of the Subsites page.
