Patches are files that address one or more issues in the program's functionality. They typically repair bugs that have been found after a software has been released, some of them are released to address issues that arise from operating environment changes, or other external factors. As a member of the Manager or Administrator group you can install patches for Lanius CMS through the Packages => Install patch page of the administration backend. There are three methods you can install a patch: by uploading a file, by providing destination to a remote URL, and by specifying a local path to extracted files on the server.

Install Patch tabs

At this point, you should choose one of them and click on appropriate tab:

  • Select File upload tab if you want to upload a patch from an archive (supported formats are ZIP, TAR, GZ, and TGZ), then specify local path to the patch file
  • Select Remote URL tab if you want to use a remote URL address, then specify remote path to the patch file
  • Select Local Path if you want to retrieve files from local directory, then specify local path to the patch directory
