Addon

An addon is a generic package which can be installed on Lanius CMS.

An addon is typically installed through proper installation process (see Packages), but some simple addons can instead be installed simply by copying the extracted package in the proper directory (drop-in copy).

Addon types

An addon can be:

• a component;
• a module;
• a plugin;
• a template;
• a language;
• a patch.

Installation modes

Templates, languages and some type of patches (editors, additional adoDB lite drivers, revision patches) can be installed by a simple copy (although normal installation works too).

Important: Components, modules, plugins and update patches all require a mandatory installation process.

Each addon package provides an INSTALL file with reminder instructions for installation.
